Del 5 al 10 de mayo se celebrará un amplio programa de actos.
San Sebastian will again be the fashion capital and will bring together a dozen international firms, fifty Basque brands, and twelve prestigious speakers. The San Sebastian Fashion Festival includes fashion talks, conferences, fashion shows and fashion shows at the ‘Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum’, the ‘San Telmo Museum’ and the facilities of ‘The Social Hub’. In addition, those who do not have access to the different activities organised as part of the programme will be able to follow the uninterrupted live signal through the event’s website and the ‘Gipuzkoa de Moda’ channel.
This edition will once again host a five-day programme aimed at the professional and amateur sectors of the fashion industry, to reflect on and analyse new business models, placing special emphasis on ‘kilometre 0’, sustainability, and promoting the ‘made in Basque Country’ and ‘made in Spain’ brands.
Ze García -who will present 42 haute couture pieces designed especially for the festival- and the tribute to Loreak Mendian on its 30th anniversary, are two milestones that will star in an intense programme: ‘Lily & You’, ‘Kupale’, ‘SKFK’, ‘Aldabaldetreku’, ‘Noventa Grados’ (Marc Jacobs and ‘Elisabetta Franchi’, among others) will be some of the major international firms that will also participate in this initiative.
Another interesting activity will be the ‘17th Sustainable Fashion Conference’, with professionals from Europe debating the future of the textile sector and the importance of moving towards a circular and responsible model. The festival will also reward local talent in the ‘Basque Fashion Awards’ seventh edition. This year, the awards will go to ‘Modesto Lomba’, ‘Noventa Grados’, and ‘Lander Urquijo’.
In previous editions, important firms in the sector have contributed to making San Sebastian Moda Festival visible: ‘Roberto Etxeberria’ in 2015, ‘Roberto Torretta’ and ‘Roberto Verino’ in 2016, ‘The 2nd Skin Co. ‘, “Isabel Zapardiez” and “Jorge Vázquez” in 2017; “Duyos”, “Teresa Helbig” and “Sophie et Voilà” in 2018; “YolanCris” and “Santos Costura” in 2019, “Juan Vidal” in 2020, “Otaduy” in 2021; ES Fascinante’, “Roberto Diz” and “Redondo Brand” in 2022; “Isabel Sanchis” in 2023; “SKFK”, “Simorra” and “Nicolás Montenegro” in 2024.
