Dagertek is an engineering company founded in November 2024 in Houston, Texas, by a team with more than fifteen years of experience in heavy industry, including its CEO, Daniel Aguilar, that is from Gipuzkoa. The company positions itself as a comprehensive engineering partner covering several areas of industrial projects, from automation and robotics to mechanical engineering, software development and cybersecurity. Thanks to Aguilar’s Basque background, Dagertek also serves as a natural bridge for Basque companies looking to establish operations in the United States.
The firm operates under a “one-stop shop” model, offering support throughout the entire lifecycle of industrial projects. Its services range from applied engineering — designing and developing tailor-made solutions from concept to commissioning — to technical training programs and talent recruitment for specialized industrial roles. “Our goal is to support clients throughout the full lifecycle of their projects, providing expertise, agility and tangible results,” explains Aguilar.
The connection between the Basque Country and the United States is central to the company’s identity. According to Aguilar, Dagertek combines the rigor, quality and commitment associated with Basque industry with the agile, results-driven mindset of the U.S. market. This hybrid approach helps Basque companies reduce the complexity of entering the American market while identifying new growth opportunities.
Innovation is another key pillar of the company. Dagertek is currently developing high-tech projects such as an AI-based intelligent system for monitoring hydraulic leaks, designed to reduce costs and environmental impact, as well as the modernization of legacy industrial lines from the 1970s through advanced sensors and smart control systems. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand into sectors such as chemicals, food and pharmaceuticals while continuing to strengthen industrial ties between the Basque Country and the United States.
