Betsaide is a foundry in Elorrio that has driven digitalization in recent years by incorporating artificial intelligence into its operational and management processes. With 36 years of experience, it employs 408 people and has developed an intelligent automation system for commercial orders.
The company was founded in 1989 with the aim of establishing itself as a leader in the metal casting and machining sector. From the outset, it has focused on technical specialization, with over 1,000 product references, “maintaining a participatory ownership structure and a strong orientation towards continuous improvement,” the company explains.
Over time, it has evolved from a conventional foundry into an advanced industrial organization, holding ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and TISAX certifications. In recent years, it has accelerated its digital and energy transformation by integrating automation solutions, MES systems, and artificial intelligence projects into various processes.
Betsaide supplies ductile iron and ADI components to manufacturers of commercial vehicles (Truck OEMs), light vehicles, agricultural machinery, and, more recently, the solar sector. “We produce housings, covers, brackets, and structural components, with machining, painting, and assembly capabilities; basically, finished parts ready to install.”
Among the recent developments is an intelligent automation system for commercial orders, developed in partnership with WAC. Using AI, orders received in PDF format are automatically read and processed, generating an EDI that is integrated into the company’s ERP. This system has saved the sales team more than 30 hours per week and improved the traceability and reliability of the process.
Among the upcoming challenges is the complete digitalization of parts tracking to know their location and status in real time at each stage of production. Progress is also being made in the digitalization of human resource management and in environmental projects aimed at reducing the carbon footprint, operating with 100% green energy and prioritizing industrial sustainability initiatives.
