Basque SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) competes globally in vibratory machinery (Autor: Mireia Ochoa)
VibroTech, a specialized SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) based in Errenteria (Basque Country) founded by Mikel Gordaliza in October 2012, designs and manufactures custom vibratory machinery for demanding industries such as foundries, mining, recycling, and heavy industry. Despite starting amid Europe’s economic crisis, the company rapidly built an international presence, exporting most of its production and now competing effectively against major global manufacturers—primarily American firms and one German leader.
Strategic U.S. Expansion in Dayton, Ohio
At the end of 2024, VibroTech established VibroTech Engineering USA in Dayton, Ohio, following over two years of monthly trips to secure a local partner. This joint venture addresses a key market demand for on-site technical service, essential for clients like Caterpillar, Nissan, Renault, and Stellantis, whose 24/7 operations cannot afford downtime. Operating as a U.S. entity ensures smooth relations amid transatlantic trade dynamics, with no tensions reported to date.
Specialized Technology and Growth Focus
VibroTech’s core expertise lies in vibratory systems for bulk material handling—akin to airport baggage conveyors but for iron, minerals, glass, chemicals, or food products—with 70% of its business in ferrous and non-ferrous foundries across Europe, Mexico, and the Americas. Reliability defines its designs, positioning it strongly in the U.S. Midwest, where competition is less fragmented. Short- to medium-term priorities center on consolidating this vast market for foundries, mining, and recycling, while nurturing established footholds in Mexico, Germany, France, and Turkey.
