€14.7 Million Round Backed by SETT, Kutxa Fundazioa, and a Leading U.S. Medical Device Multinational
The San Sebastián-based company strengthens the next phase of its development to bring its IZAR laser surgery system to market, thanks to the support of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT)—attached to the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Civil Service—, Kutxa Fundazioa, and a leading U.S. medical technology multinational.
Deneb Medical, a company specializing in advanced laser-based precision surgery technologies, and supported by Seed Gipuzkoa, SCR y CDTI-Innvierte among others, announces the closing of a €14.7 million financing round. This capital injection is intended to drive the development and market launch of its robotic spine surgery solution, IZAR.
The transaction stands out for the strength and diversity of its tier-one strategic partners, who bring both financial muscle and market value. The round features the participation of SETT, contributing €7.2 million, and a leading U.S. multinational in the development and commercialization of medical devices, investing €5 million. They are joined by Kutxa Fundazioa—through its Bidelagun program—with a €2.5 million investment, thereby reaffirming its commitment to the industrial and technological development of the region.
This international alliance will allow Deneb Medical to accelerate its growth, consolidate its positioning in the fields of precision surgery and advanced robotics, and optimize the development of IZAR. The entry of the multinational industrial partner will facilitate the integration of the system into global surgical platforms, leveraging established commercial networks and deep specialized technical expertise.
