D&A Innovative Systems develops technological solutions combining IoT, artificial intelligence, electronics, data analytics and cloud platforms to drive industrial digitalisation. The Gipuzkoa-based company designs end-to-end projects, from data capture to its conversion into useful information for process optimisation and decision-making.
Founded in Bizkaia in 2015, the company aims to bring practical digitalisation solutions to industrial plants and solve real operational problems. “From the outset, we understood that industrial digitalisation could not be addressed through software alone. To obtain useful information, we need to reach the asset, capture the data correctly and turn it into information that supports decision-making,” explains Alberto Blázquez, CEO of D&A Innovative Systems.
Technology to transform industry
D&A delivers complete projects integrating sensors, IoT devices, electronics, firmware, communications, cloud platforms and artificial intelligence. Its activity has evolved from asset monitoring towards predictive maintenance, automation, process optimisation and digital twins.
Industrial companies currently seek to reduce downtime, anticipate failures, improve quality, optimise resources and increase traceability. To meet these needs, D&A also works as a technology partner for machinery manufacturers, embedding connectivity, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance and new digital services directly into their equipment. “Our goal is not to introduce technology for its own sake, but to identify which information creates value and design the architecture needed to obtain it,” says Blázquez.
The company operates in manufacturing, foundry, rail transport, water management, energy and logistics. Although each sector has different requirements, all face the challenge of managing distributed assets, anticipating incidents and making better use of available information.
Artificial intelligence and digital twins are part of the evolution of these solutions, always based on reliable data and industrial process knowledge. “Artificial intelligence only creates value when it has quality information and industrial context. That combination makes it possible to anticipate problems and optimise operations,” affirms the CEO.
Innovation from the Basque Country
D&A considers the Basque innovation ecosystem key to its growth. The company collaborates with industrial firms, technology centres, universities and other stakeholders to develop complex projects and transfer that knowledge into solutions with national and international application.
It has also taken part in programmes promoted by SPRI and the Basque Government, including Hazitek, which have supported R&D projects with a strong research component and artificial intelligence applied to industrial processes. “These programmes foster collaboration and enable knowledge to be transformed into new products and business capabilities,” highlights Blázquez.
Key milestones include the development of the CLOMOS technology platform, several families of IoT devices, and projects in the rail, foundry, aerospace manufacturing, water management and logistics sectors. The company has also strengthened its electronics manufacturing and assembly capabilities to control the entire development cycle of its solutions.
Looking ahead, D&A will continue to strengthen its role as a technology partner for machinery manufacturers, incorporating artificial intelligence, more autonomous IoT devices and scalable solutions to accelerate industrial digitalisation. “We want to remain a company close to industry, able to understand each process and develop the technology needed to solve its challenges,” concludes Alberto Blázquez.
