The Basque Technology Park, at its Abanto Campus, extends over 505,362 m2, and includes spaces, technological infrastructures and value added services for the development and testing of projects linked to the hydrogen value chain.
The campus has a Headquarters- EIC (Energy Intelligence Center), with an area of 18,500 m2, which offers spaces for offices, coworking and multi-purpose rooms for meetings and events. There is also a Centre of Excellence for Energy (EIC) containing common-use laboratories with technological instrumentation, as well as a full-scale industrial workshop that will house research machinery and a work bench for hydrogen-linked trials on real-scale prototypes.
In addition, a second building measuring 12,000 m2 will soon be ready. This will offer pre-industrial spaces for projects linked to Industry 4.0 and a hydrogen Living Lab, for trials and the testing of hydrogen value chain projects.
The Abanto Campus has specific infrastructures linked to hydrogen:
• Direct supply of green hydrogen to the Abanto campus from a 2.5 MW electrolyzer located at the Petronor refinery.
• A mobility logistics platform with a hydrogen refuelling station, a laboratory and a loading and service station.
Abanto Campus is one of the six active campuses of the Basque Country Technology Park (Zamudio/Derio, Leioa, Abanto, Donostia, Hernani and Vitoria-Gasteiz) and is home to a total of 660 companies and more than 21,000 highly qualified professionals.
