The 16th edition of the Quality Innovation Award (QIA) has given the award to the initiative, named BucovIA, in the education category. The project is developed jointly by the Somorrostro Training Center, Nazaret de Donostia-San Sebastián and the Zabálburu school in Bilbao.
Jon Barrueco Gutiérrez, a professor and researcher from Barakaldo, who works at the Somorrostro Training Center in Muskiz, has received an international award for “quality innovation”. Jon Barrueco, 32, has a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of the Basque Country. In addition to the current recognition, it has also obtained the innovation award in terms of quality in the Basque phase of the call, and its record also includes the Educaweb 2021 Award, the Idiom award for the best record of the 2011/2012 academic year and in 2012/2013 as well as the Itelazpi Award for the best final project 2013, among others.
The award took place at the 16th edition of the Quality Innovation Awards, with the participation of a total of 728 innovation projects from more than 20 countries. The award ceremony will be held on February 23 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The announcement of the award indicates the diversity of nationalities in the participants, and among the winners is the center of Somorrostro, Nazaret in Zabalburu (Bilbao), a professional training center. Specifically, they give him the prize for the creation of the artificial intelligence tool that detects signs of bullying in the class. For this, an analysis of a scientific test for the detection of bullying was carried out, with a selection of questions and the elaboration of what has been called a BucovlA test. In summary, it is an innovative project since it consists of using artificial intelligence to detect cases of bullying and the development of algorithms to identify the roles of victim, observer and aggressor.

La 16 edición de los Quality Innovation Award (QIA) ha otorgado el galardón a la iniciativa, bautizada como BucovIA, en la categoría de educación. El proyecto está desarrollado conjuntamente por el Centro de Formación Somorrostro, Nazaret de Donostia-San Sebastián y el colegio Zabalburu de Bilbao.
El profesor e investigador barakaldés Jon Barrueco Gutiérrez, que trabaja en el Centro de Formación Somorrostro, de Muskiz, ha recibido un premio internacional sobre “innovación en materia de calidad”. Jon Barrueco, de 32 años, es doctor en Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones por la Universidad del País Vasco. Además del actual reconocimiento, también ha obtenido el premio de innovación en materia de calidad en la fase vasca de la convocatoria, y en su historial constan así mismo el Premio Educaweb 2021, el premio Idom al mejor expediente del curso académico 2011/2012 y en 2012/2013 así como el Premio Itelazpi al mejor proyecto fin de carrera 2013, entre otros
El reconocimiento tuvo lugar en la XVI edición de los Premios a la Innovación en materia de Calidad han participado un total de 728 proyectos de innovación procedentes de más de 20 países.
La ceremonia de entrega de premios se celebrará el próximo 23 de febrero en Almaty, Kazajistán. En el comunicado del otorgamiento del premio se indica la diversidad de nacionalidades en los participantes, y entre los ganadores se encuentra el centro de Somorrostro, Nazaret en Zabalburu (Bilbao), centro de formación profesional. En concreto, le otorgan el premio por la creación de la herramienta de inteligencia artificial que detecta signos de bullying en la clase. Para ello, se realizó un análisis de un test científico para la detección del bullying, con una selección de preguntas y elaboración de lo que han denominado un test BucovlA.
En resumen, se trata de un proyecto innovador puesto que consiste en utilizar la inteligencia artificial para detectar los casos de bullying y el desarrollo de algoritmos para identificar los roles de víctima, observador y agresor.
