The open innovation platform for smart industry, BIND 4.0, has closed the call for its sixth edition with a total of 772 projects registered. The applications come from 82 different countries, of which 620 are international, representing 80% of the total entries. The participating start-ups will be announced in January 2022 and will be selected by the 65 partner companies of BIND 4.0, specialized in areas such as smart industry, clean and sustainable energy, food and health.
BIND 4.0 is a public-private Industry 4.0 initiative created by the Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment through the SPRI Group, which has become an international benchmark program since its foundation in 2016. Each year, the platform manages to attract the interest of technology start-ups from all over the world, whose main objective is to accelerate their arrival to the market by the hand of reference customers, while promoting innovation and digital transformation of companies in the Basque Country through work with start-ups.
40% of the registered projects opt for revolutionary technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence or Big Data to develop their solutions. The rest of the applications are in the field of additive manufacturing, followed by virtual and/or augmented reality. Among the registered projects, it is worth noting that more than 54% are from Europe (with 418) and 46% originate from other continents. Specifically, after Europe, the largest representation comes from South America with 110 entries, representing 14% of the total, followed in third place by Asia. The Basque Country has a total of 54 projects registered.
La plataforma de innovación abierta de industria inteligente, BIND 4.0, ha cerrado la convocatoria de su sexta edición con un total de 772 proyectos inscritos. Las candidaturas proceden de 82 países diferentes, de las que 620 son internacionales, lo que representa el 80% de los inscritos totales. Las startups participantes se darán a conocer en enero de 2022 y serán seleccionadas por las 65 empresas partner de BIND 4.0, especializadas en áreas como la industria inteligente, energía limpia y sostenible, la alimentación y la salud.
BIND 4.0 es una iniciativa público-privada de Industria 4.0 creada por el Departamento de Desarrollo Económico, Sostenibilidad y Medio Ambiente a través del Grupo SPRI, que se ha convertido en un programa de referencia internacional, desde su fundación en 2016. Cada año, la plataforma consigue atraer el interés de startups tecnológicas procedentes de todas las partes del mundo, cuyo principal objetivo es acelerar su llegada al mercado de la mano de clientes de referencia, a la vez que se promueve la innovación y la transformación digital de las empresas de Euskadi a través del trabajo con startups.
El 40% de los proyectos registrados apuestan por tecnologías tan revolucionarias como Internet de las Cosas, Inteligencia Artificial o Big Data para desarrollar sus soluciones. El resto de candidaturas son del ámbito de la fabricación aditiva, seguida de la realidad virtual y/o aumentada. Entre los proyectos inscritos, cabe destacar que más del 54% son procedentes de Europa (con 418) y el 46% tienen su origen en el resto de continentes. Concretamente, después de Europa la mayor representación procede de América del Sur con 110 candidaturas, lo que supone el 14% del total, seguido en tercer lugar de Asia. Euskadi cuenta con un total de 54 proyectos inscritos.
