On February 20, the Basque Country will be the epicenter of global entrepreneurship
Bilbao will become the meeting place for promising startups thanks to an event derived from the prestigious ‘Slush’ in Helsinki, which this year travels to Euskadi for the first time. The meeting aims to transform the city into the state epicenter of entrepreneurship, offering an ideal environment to discover, connect and grow.
Bilbao Slush’D is led by Elena Popovici and David Cabezon, from ‘BayLoop Ventures’, a startup studio based in the “Garaia Technology Park” in Gipuzkoa, which aims to connect the innovative waters of the Bay of Biscay with the Bay of Finland and, through this initiative, seeks to energize and connect startups, investors, companies and students in the Basque Country and beyond.
This event will provide opportunities for Basque startups to place themselves on the radar of local and international investors, corporations and strategic alliances looking for innovative ideas in sectors such as HealthTech, BioTech, CleanTech, DeepTech, AI, FinTech, InsurTech and SaaS.
Nordic innovation, with Finland and Estonia leading the way as the main European unicorn factories, will join the Basque entrepreneurial spirit to join forces and highlight ideas, inspiration, projects and businesses that aspire to add value to the business ecosystem, redefining the boundaries of Knowledge and Effort, Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
