EIT Manufacturing, the largest innovation community in European industry, and Global Factor, an international leader in sustainability solutions, have formalized a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting a more competitive and environmentally friendly industry through new services that integrate innovation and sustainability strategies.
Sustainability is one of the most urgent pending issues for Spanish and European industry. This has motivated two key players, EIT Manufacturing and Global Factor, to join forces to drive this green transition by combining their respective strengths: tools for the implementation of innovation in industrial environments through new technologies, a very powerful European community and a deep knowledge and experience in sustainability. The announcement of the agreement took place during the ‘B Acceleration Week’ event, held at the B Accelerator Tower in Bilbao.
The main objective of this collaboration is to offer companies of all sizes a comprehensive service that combines sustainability strategies and decarbonisation plans with the implementation of advanced technologies. This will address complex objectives such as energy efficiency, emissions traceability, materials reuse and intra-logistics optimisation, thus improving operational efficiency and contributing to the decarbonisation of industrial operations. Reducing environmental impact through innovative strategies and advanced technological solutions will not only mitigate negative effects, but also strengthen business resilience and promote sustainable growth.
Companies will be able to access a strategic sustainability and decarbonisation plan and will receive support to implement the selected priorities in concrete projects, ensuring their execution and the tangibility of their results. ‘We want to respond to an urgent need in the industry that is currently unmet. This is a pioneering service with which we want to help Spanish companies to find in sustainability a strategic and real value, where the plans end up in implementable projects in plants, with proofs of concept, which are then scalable’, explains Gala Maturana, Senior Manager of Business Development and Innovation of the Western region of EIT Manufacturing.
