The Basque Open Industry event has already opened registration for 13 and 14 November, as part of the European SME Week 2023. Promoted by the SPRI Group, it represents a step forward for Basque Industry 4.0 and will bring together public and private agents and companies.
In November, the Basque Country will be the meeting point for European industry and SMEs. The Basque Open Industry event, the largest gathering of the Basque smart industry, will be held on 13 and 14 November at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) and registration is now open. It will showcase the maturity of the Basque Country’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem, which makes it stand out among the leading European regions. This meeting, which takes over from Basque Industry 4.0, has an international dimension this year, as it is part of the European SME Week 2023, which includes two other top-level events.
On the one hand, the annual conference of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will be held, an organisation of which the Basque Country has been a member since its inception and which brings together a thousand European representatives. On the other hand, the SME Assembly brings together Europe’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an annual meeting and, this time, Bilbao has been chosen as the venue.
The week will begin with the Basque Open Industry. Organised by the Basque Government’s Department of Economic Development, Sustainability, and Environment through the SPRI Group, this is a renewed edition of Basque Industry 4.0, which adopts a global vision of the Basque smart industry with an international projection.
The event is aimed at all professional profiles and sectors, as well as the general public interested in attracting and developing talent around cutting-edge technologies. It aims to bring together strategies, opinions, technology, and experiences, and to foster relationships around the Basque advanced manufacturing ecosystem and talent with productive technology-based knowledge. To achieve its purpose, it will feature a programme of conferences, round tables, and practical workshops.
This new edition aims to maintain the success of the previous Basque Industry 4.0, in 2019, which was attended by 1,880 people, 130 exhibitors, and a hundred speakers. In this sense, this year there will be a new 15,000 m2 exhibition space, where more than 150 exhibitors are expected to be present, including start-ups, members of the Basque Technology Centre Network, and entities such as the Basque Cybersecurity Center (BCSC), the Basque Research & Technology Alliance (BRTA), the Basque Artificial Intelligence Centre (BAIC) and the Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH).
The exhibition will provide an opportunity to find out more about their latest developments and open up commercial channels. Among others, the exhibition area will showcase the latest trends in sector technologies to optimise industrial processes, such as virtual reality, big data, cybersecurity and collaborative robotics.
Basque Open Industry has a multidisciplinary vocation and will seek to be a space for enrichment, a live observatory of the latest trends in advanced manufacturing and emerging applications in the sector. Throughout its programme, it will address topics such as energy-environmental and technological-digital transitions, the strategic vision for the productive industry, cybersecurity solutions and sustainable digitisation, artificial intelligence opportunities, the latest startup innovations for companies and talent, and internationalisation.

La cita Basque Open Industry ya ha abierto las inscripciones para los días 13 y 14 de noviembre, enmarcada dentro de la European SME Week 2023. Impulsada por el Grupo SPRI, supone un paso adelante del Basque Industry 4.0 y reunirá a agentes públicos, privados y empresas.
Euskadi será en noviembre el punto de encuentro de la industria y las pymes europeas. La cita Basque Open Industry, el mayor encuentro de la industria inteligente vasca, se celebrará el 13 y 14 de noviembre en el Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) y ya ha abierto sus inscripciones. Mostrará la madurez del ecosistema de manufactura avanzada de Euskadi, que le hace destacar entre las regiones europeas más punteras. Ese encuentro, que toma el relevo del Basque Industry 4.0, adquiere este año una dimensión internacional, al enmarcarse dentro de la European SME Week 2023, que incluye otros dos eventos de primer nivel.
Por un lado, se celebrará la conferencia anual del Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), organización de la que Euskadi forma parte desde su origen y que reúne a un millar de representantes europeos. Por otro lado, la SME Assembly reúne esa misma semana a pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYME) deEuropa en un encuentro anual que esta vez ha elegido Bilbao como sede.
La semana comenzará con el Basque Open Industry. Organizado por el Departamento de Desarrollo Económico, Sostenibilidad y Medio Ambiente del Gobierno Vasco a través del Grupo SPRI, se trata de una edición renovada del Basque Industry 4.0, que adopta una visión global de la industria inteligente vasca y con una proyección internacional.
El evento está dirigido a todos los perfiles profesionales y sectores, así como al público general interesado en la atracción y el desarrollo del talento alrededor de tecnologías de vanguardia. Tiene como objetivo aunar estrategias, opiniones, tecnología y experiencias, y fomentar las relaciones en torno al ecosistema vasco de manufactura avanzada y el talento con conocimiento tecnológico de base productiva. Para lograr su finalidad, contará con un programa compuesto de conferencias, mesas redondas y talleres prácticos.
Esta nueva edición busca mantener el éxito recogido en el anterior Basque Industry 4.0, en 2019, que contó con 1.880 asistentes, 130 expositores y un centenar de ponentes. En este sentido, este año habrá como novedad un espacio de exposición de 15.000 m2, donde se espera la presencia de más de 150 expositores, entre los que se encontrarán startups, miembros de la Red de Centros Tecnológicos vascos y entidades como Basque Cybersecurity Center (BCSC), Basque Research & Technology Alliance (BRTA), el Centro Vasco de Inteligencia Artificial (BAIC) y el Basque Digital Innovation Hub (BDIH).
La exposición permitirá conocer mejor sus novedades y abrir vías comerciales. Entre otras, la zona expositiva mostrará últimas tendencias en tecnologías del sector para optimizar los procesos industriales, como realidad virtual, big data, ciberseguridad y robótica colaborativa.
Basque Open Industry tiene una vocación multidisciplinar, y buscará ser un espacio de enriquecimiento, un observatorio en vivo de las últimas tendencias en manufactura avanzada y aplicaciones emergentes del sector. A lo largo de su programa, abordará temas como las transiciones energético-medioambiental y tecnológico-digital, la visión estratégica para la industria productiva, soluciones de ciberseguridad y digitalización sostenible, oportunidades de la inteligencia artificial, últimas innovaciones de startups para empresas y talento e internacionalización.
